Route 2020 Dubai Metro Expansion Design Phase from NHT to Expo Iconic Station including the Depot upgrades at Jebel Ali and Rashidiya & Underground stations.
SENER a world-renowned Spain based company dealing and proficient in the MEP Design Management stages of the Dubai Metro Expansion ready for Expo2020. Main objective was to plan and process a complete MEP team including all trades and professions. Overseeing the planning, execution of all design phases relating to all E&M practises including infrastructure sub-contractor liaison, client (RTA Approved) relationships and business development across the spectrum ready for the construction phase. Personal duties to include the following: -
- Design review of all deliverables for MEP and coordination trades including Track/Signalling for seven in number stations 5 O/G 2 U/G Including Iconic and Interchange. Depot upgrades/Re builds at various locations including Rashidiya, Al Qusais and Jebel Ali Exchange leading through to construction on site. Dedicated workshops for the maintenance of the units. Housing of the Operation Control Centre (OCC), Admin building, maintenance facilities for Civil/Track, water supply, to include for sewerage and storm water. Electrical traction, E&M, Signalling & Telecom. Inspection lines, major repair lines for wheel profiling, brake modules. Heavy interior/under frame/roof cleaning for the rolling stock on the respective corridor. Implementation of bespoke washing facilities for outside heavy cleaning, plant and full face, vestibule/buffer areas etc. Design of the required periodicity of maintenance schedules to meet Trip schedule, IA & IC Inspections, POH. Compilation of major plant and machinery for the depots.
- Designing the provision of Radiant Cooling via District Cooling (DC) provider/Energy Transfer Stations (ETS)/End user network. Full CFD analysis through WSP and implementation of the systems RE LEED Gold certification re RTA guidelines.
- Leading the team into the construction stage with a strong emphasis on all items HSE/Risk
- Ensuring and managing the team for compatibility against specifications and local codes including Dilapidation MEP Surveys
- Management of 11 in number project delivery staff here in Dubai, 5 in number Electrical, 5 in number Mechanical and 1 in number RAMS
- Chaired Daily/Weekly and Monthly MEP update meetings and appropriate workshops to include the stages of DCP’s (Design Control Points) both internally and with the client RTA and relevant consultancies.
- Sitting in on Monthly Fire Life Safety meetings representing all items related to MEP and other relevant trades
- Liaison with planning to develop a detailed CPM schedule
- Signing off of all Material Approvals/Shop Drawings after review by relevant teams
- Liaising with the Application/Implementation of BIM deliverables
